Please ensure the files you are sending can be output correctly:
• All e-mail attachments and FTP files should be stuffed or zipped before you send them. This will prevent the files from being corrupted. We accept email files up to 5 MB.
Anything over 5 MB should be uploaded to the via our website. Please do not include any unnecessary files. Send only what we need to use for output.
• Please provide a HARD COPY for every job.
You may FAX it to: 301-294-4801.
• Include all LINKED IMAGES and all screen and printer FONTS. Embedded pictures make the document file larger than necessary, and make it difficult to make changes that may be necessary. Font substitutions are highly unpredictable. Please use the “Collect for Output” utility in Quark, “Package” in InDesign, “Save for Service Provider” option in PageMaker, and “Pack & Go > Save for Commercial Printer” in Publisher.
• Images should be CMYK or Grayscale. RGB images are not acceptable.
• Format your file so that the dimensions match the finished size. You must include a minimum of 1/8” for any item with BLEED.
• Be sure that your document’s ink colors are consistent throughout and that they correspond with intended output. Remove any unused spot colors from swatch pallets to minimize risk of incorrect output.

If you are sending a PDF for output:
• When you save the file as a PDF, be sure to set the job option at PRESS SETTING, not screen resolution.
• Always EMBED FONTS. Always.

Regarding files created in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint:
• The colors viewed on the screen are RGB and cannot accurately be converted to CMYK.
• Images in these programs have a default resolution of 72 dpi and cannot be changed. Output is not as sharp as it would be in other design programs.
• These programs do not allow for bleed. If bleed is essential, we recommend using a different design program.
